TENA online learning changes staff’s incontinence care practice

TENA, SCA’s incontinence care brand, launched Online Learning to Nursing Home customers in Australia in 2008. A survey shows that continence knowledge has improved as a result of this new medium.

Here are some key results from the survey:

  • 85% of respondents liked being able to complete the courses in their own time at their own pace, often coming back to different sections to go over things they did not completely understand.
  • 38% said that the ability to complete courses when they were fresh and had time was a specific advantage of online learning.
  • 96% would complete another course of this nature; they had no trouble accessing the courses, found them easy to navigate, and the objectives clear and activities engaging.
  • 87% felt the course content was directly related to the skills they needed.
  • 82% felt the courses had made them more knowledgeable with 62% actually changing the way they manage incontinence in their facility as a result of what they had learned.

Ten different courses

TENA now offers professional customers ten courses to choose from ranging from beginner information to advanced continence management information. This year we will be looking at improving courses further with more interactive activities and new courses.
